SEEPFINDER
A unique airborne oil detection system for oil exploration, SEEPFINDER is flown in light aircraft (also equipped with aeromagnetic detection systems) and provides detailed information of oil seepage on the sea surface.
The majority of sub-surface oil deposits will migrate via seabed faults and leak to the sufrace, often driven by gas pressure. SEEPFINDER records the spectral signature of the oil, and using GPS location, can produce detailed maps of oil type and presence.
Aeromagnetic data reveals faults, and airborne gravity and gradiometry can provide information on the related sub-surface structures.
